Minister for Agriculture and Food, Forestry and Small Business

Through her work as a farmer, regional businesswoman and in the public service, Jarvis has a long career advocating for communities in the bush. 

She has proved herself as a strong leader, through her work as CEO of the WA Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network, during her time as Commissioner for the Forest Products Commission and on the boards of the South West Development Commission and Australian Landcare Council.

Jarvis’ work attracting resettled refugees to work in agriculture saw her named 2014 WA Rural Woman of the Year and national runner-up. She was also named the Rural Community Leader of the Year at the 2019 Australian Farmer of the Year awards.

Jarvis was appointed to the McGowan cabinet as Minister for Agriculture and Food; Forestry and Small Business in December 2022 and is passionate about continuing to provide a strong voice for regional communities in WA.

Adelaide Timbrell is a senior economist with over 7 years of experience working with some of Australia’s leading companies, helping stakeholders understand and make use of economic information. She specialises in researching and communicating economic topics in an accessible way, tailored to specific audiences.

Currently Adelaide is a key member of the research team at ANZ Bank, where she researches, analyses and communicates the impacts of changes in Australia’s macro economy. Adelaide has extensive knowledge on the Australian household sector, housing, property and retail trade. Her current focus is on how COVID-19 is affecting these sectors and the broader Australian and global economy.

With over 25 years of extensive commercial and industry experience, spanning Retail, Convenience, Agribusiness and Industrial Sectors both domestically and internationally, Wayne’s expertise is in developing high-performing teams, commercial management, strategic planning & execution, and delivering results.

Kelly Pearce

Director, WA Agricultural Research Collaboration

Dr Pearce, who completed her Agricultural Science degree at The University of Western Australia, brings a wealth of farming, academic, industry and board experience to the role.

A sheep and grain farmer from Yealering in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, Dr Pearce is well connected nationally across the agricultural industry with more than 20 years of experience as a farmer, researcher and director.

The initiative was launched last July to bring a ‘Team WA’ approach to research and development and a unified vision to build research quality, capacity, careers and collaborations for future generations.

It brings together the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), CSIRO, Grower Group Alliance, UWA, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University.

Larissa Taylor

Ms Taylor is a Perth-based executive in the corporate agribusiness sector, with experience in strategy formulation, stakeholder engagement, business development, project management and capacity building, and includes supply chains and multi-sector projects.

Ms Taylor’s work reflects her passion regarding Australia’s geostrategic and trade relationships, food and agribusiness competitiveness in industry, public sector, tertiary interface, Asia-literacy, environmental sustainability and transition to a low carbon economy.

Ms Taylor is currently a Director of Savoir Consulting.
